Specification-grade flooring for MMA gyms, BJJ academies, boxing clubs, and combat sports facilities. Tatami surfaces, impact-absorbing rubber, and durable roll flooring.
Martial arts facilities demand more from their floors than almost any other environment. Tatami surfaces for grappling, impact-absorbing rubber for striking zones, and durable roll flooring for warm-up areas — each zone has distinct technical requirements that a single product cannot satisfy.
Superstrata supplies the full range: EVA tatami mats with the correct surface texture for BJJ, judo, and wrestling; heavy-duty rubber tiles rated for bag work and plyometric training; and seamless rubber rolls for reception and circulation areas. All products are backed by EN test data and full specification documentation.
Every martial arts studios facility has distinct zones with different performance demands. Here's how Superstrata products map across a typical installation.
BJJ, judo, wrestling, and MMA mat areas require a reversible tatami surface with the correct texture for grip and slide. The Dojo EVA tatami mat delivers the standard 1.5m × 1.5m format with reversible plain/tatami faces.
Heavy bag work, pad work, and plyometric training demand maximum impact absorption. The Titan 30mm tile provides 61% shock absorption and a 200kg drop rating — suitable for the most intensive striking environments.
Skipping, footwork drills, and conditioning work benefit from a seamless, easy-clean surface. The Stride rubber roll provides a professional finish with no joints to catch feet or equipment.
High-traffic entrance and corridor areas need a durable, slip-resistant surface that presents well. Stride roll flooring in a dark colourway provides a clean, professional finish that is easy to maintain.
Full TDS, NBS clauses, EN test certificates, and installation guides for every product. Ready to paste directly into your tender documents.
Tatami mats, rubber tiles, and rubber rolls all from a single supplier. Consistent quality, single point of contact, and coordinated delivery.
For martial arts studios in mixed-use buildings, Shield composite underlay achieves up to 28dB impact sound reduction when combined with Titan or Pulse tiles.
Physical sample boards of any product dispatched within 48 hours. See and feel the surface texture before committing to specification.

The Dojo EVA tatami mat provides a 1.5m × 1.5m format with a reversible surface — tatami texture on one side, plain EVA on the other. The tatami texture provides the correct grip-and-slide characteristics for grappling disciplines. Thickness is 20mm, providing adequate cushioning for throws and takedowns.
Yes. Many facilities use tatami mats for the primary mat area and rubber tiles (Titan or Pulse) for striking zones, bag work areas, and functional training spaces. Both product types are available from Superstrata, allowing a single-supplier specification across the entire facility.
For upper-storey installations, we recommend Shield composite foam underlay beneath Titan 30mm tiles. The combined system achieves up to 28dB impact sound reduction, tested to EN ISO 10140-3. This is particularly important for facilities in mixed-use buildings where impact noise transmission to residential or commercial spaces below is a concern.
