Streamline Your Specification with Superstrata BIM Objects
Building Information Modelling (BIM) is now standard practice in UK architectural workflows. For publicly funded projects and large-scale commercial developments, BIM-aligned working has become a contractual expectation rather than a differentiator.
Superstrata supports digital engineering workflows by providing data-rich BIM objects for our commercial gym flooring range, allowing architects and BIM coordinators to integrate our products into Revit models from early design stages.
Why Use Superstrata BIM Objects
Our BIM objects are designed to support specification, clash detection, and lifecycle data management.
1. Accurate Spatial Coordination
Gym flooring isn't a 2mm veneer. Heavy-duty acoustic systems such as Superstrata Shield can require build-ups of 40–60mm. Importing accurate BIM objects early lets the design team model slab set-downs, accessible transitions, and door clearances correctly — avoiding costly clashes during construction.
2. Embedded Product Data
Our Revit families are populated with structured product data, including:
- Manufacturer details and product references
- Warranty periods and expected service life
- Recommended maintenance and cleaning protocols
- Performance data covering fire classification (EN 13501-1) and slip resistance (BS 7976-2)
Where COBie data is required at handover, our objects can be configured to support the project's COBie deliverables.
3. Sustainability Data
To support BREEAM assessment workflows, our BIM objects link to our EN 15804 Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) and, where available, third-party VOC emissions certificates. This allows sustainability consultants to extract data needed for lifecycle and embodied carbon calculations.
Available BIM Assets

The following Superstrata product ranges are available as Autodesk Revit (.rfa) families:
- Superstrata Titan: 30mm and 40mm heavy-duty interlocking tiles (free-weight zones)
- Superstrata Stride: 15mm and 20mm performance rolls and tiles (functional training zones)
- Superstrata Pulse: 10mm and 15mm high-density rolls (cardio and machine zones)
- Superstrata Shield: Decoupled acoustic systems (upper-storey gyms)
Objects are modelled to a Level of Detail and Level of Information suitable for RIBA Stage 3 onwards. Specific LOD/LOI requirements can be discussed for project-specific needs.
